Elsie Worley Collins

CORDELE — Funeral services for Elsie Worley Collins, 83, were held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Penia Baptist Church with Rev. Lawton Sammons officiating.  Paula Faye Owens, pianist, played soft music prior to and after the service.
A tribute in honor of Mrs. Collins life was shown during the service.  Billy White, soloist, sang “Beulah Land” and “Sheltered In The Arms Of God.”  Pallbearers were deacons of the church,  Allen Morrow, Steve Hughes, Dickie Dowdy, James Gilliam, Mike Hutchens and Danny Smith.   Serving as honorary pallbearers were other deacons of the church, the Joy Sunday School Class and the Red Hat Ladies.   The committal service was officiated by Rev. Larry Wilbanks and burial was in the church cemetery.
Elsie  passed into her heavenly home Friday, October 2, 2015 at her residence.  She was born in Crisp County and was the daughter of the late John William and Hattie King Worley.  She was a teacher in the Crisp County School System for over 30 years and was an active member of Penia Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.  Elsie was a member of the Red Hat Society and always enjoyed her flowers and gardening.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jimmy Collins of Cordele; two daughters and their husbands, Pam and Tommy Dozier and Kathryn and Alan Harris, all of Cordele; two grandchildren, Heather Fore and her husband, Daniel of Cordele and Drake Dozier of Statesboro; and two sisters, Dorothy Morgan and Ruth Luke, both of Arabi.
