Entries open for Big Pig Jig parade

VIENNA — Soon the smoke will once again rise again over BBQ City here as the tantalizing aromas of BBQ drift from any one of the many cooking teams that will participate in the 34th Annual Big Pig Jig November 6-7/
The event will officially kick off with the Big Pig Jig preview parade which will be held in downtown Vienna at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 24. Parade participants will line up on Seventh Street South beginning at 10 a.m. the day of the parade.
This year’s theme is “Hog Hop” similar to a 50’s Sock Hop  so participants are encouraged to get creative with their entry designs. There will be no charge for entering the parade
For safety purposes, parade units are NOT allowed to throw candy or other items from moving parade vehicles. If any entrants have candy or items to distribute they may do so by having someone from their group walk alongside the float and pass the items out by hand.
Entry forms and a complete list of rules are available online at www.bigpigjig.com. Entry forms should be submitted by Monday, October 19.
