Wildcats Holds Banquet

Crisp Academy held its varsity Winter/Spring Athletic Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, in the CA cafeteria.  Student athletes from winter and spring sports were honored for their hard work and dedication.  CA Athlete Director George Kennedy hosted the event.

Coach Rebecca Stillwell presented the four senior cheerleaders, Grace Atherton, Maggie Atherton, Martie Flanders and Kaylee Odom, with co-captain plaques and recognized Grace and Maggie as All-American Cheerleaders.

Girls Varsity Basketball players were announced by Coach Gina Mitchell.  Each member of the state runner-up team was recognized.  All-Region – Parker Krause, Sidney Folsom, Mary Margaret McGarr, Sydney Wells, Mary Claire McGarr, Josey Wessel;

Honorable Mention – Kaylee Moore; All-State – Parker Krause and Sidney Folsom.

Coach Mitchell also presented the girls track honors:  REGION Runners-Up:  1st place – 100 m hurdles, 2nd – long jump & triple jump, Parker Krause; 3rd – shot put, 4th 100 m and 200 m dash,  Maddie Reed; 3rd – discus, 3rd – 400 m dash, Loren Seabolt; 2nd – 300 m hurdles, Macy Brown; 2nd – 200 m dash, Maddie Milani; 1st – 800 m run, Rachel Hopper; 2nd – 4 x 100, Parker Krause, Maddie Milani, Maddie Reed, Rachel Hopper; 1st – 4 x 400 m, Parker Krause, Maddie Milani, Maddie Reed, Rachel Hopper; 3rd – 1600 m run, 4th – 800 m run, Grace Atherton; STATE 6th place overall: State Champ – triple jump, State Runner-Up – long jump, 4th – 100 m hurdles, Parker Krause; 5th – 800 m run, Rachel Hopper; 5th – 4 x 400 m relay, Parker Krause, Maddie Milani, Maddie Reed, Rachel Hopper

The boys’ basketball awards were presented by Coach George Kennedy: All-Region, Bobby Ray Mitchell and Ravi Patel; Most Improved, Ravi Patel; Best All-Around, Bobby Ray Mitchell; Captains Award, Drew Flanders.

Coach Kyle Odom handed out wrestling honors:  Most Wins, Dillon Easterlin; Coaches Award, Austin Cobb; Most Improved, Aubrey Brown; Most Dedicated, Dylan Farmer.

Tennis coach Charissa Carter announced team and individual honors:  Most Valuable – Girls Doubles, Olivia Folds and Mary Claire McGarr; Most Valuable – Boys Doubles, Drew Flanders / Ravi Patel; Most Valuable – Singles, John Hunter Willis.  The boys’ team were region champs, and the girls were runners-up.  The doubles team of Flanders and Patel won Region and made it to the final four at State.  All previous players made it to the State competition, in addition to Region Champ Lindsey Youngblood, Kaleb Spires / Billy Hardin, Nathan Willis / Trey Williams.

Dr. Neill Lee, the CA golf coach, presented two awards, Most Improved, Jackson Penton, and MVP, Cooper Folds.  Dr. Lee also acknowledged the accomplishments of the state qualifiers Folds, Halle Newman, Ravi Patel, Penton, Aubrey Brown and alternate Annie Laurie Hays.  Folds was the State Individual Runner-up and was low medalist at Region.  The team was Runner-up at State.
