A graveside service for Felix A. Evans of Cordele will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Penia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Felix  passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Pine Pointe Hospice Care in Bibb County. Born in Drew, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Lewis E. and Jean Didlake Evans. Felix retired in 2000 after working as a chemical tech with Georgia Pacific for 28 years. He was a member of Penia Baptist Church and a die-hard Atlanta Braves fan. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and raising horses. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Felix is survived by his siblings, a sister, Cindy E. Jenkins and two brothers and their wives, Bob and Jean Evans and Doug and Jane Evans, all of Cordele;  four nieces and nephews and their spouses, Laura Evans of Atlanta, Julie and Allen Ellenburg and Wes Jenkins, all of Cordele, and Jason and Joanna Evans of Leesburg; six great-nephews and a great-niece, Taylor Ellenburg, Dalton Durham, Camden Durham, Joseph Durham, Tucker Ellenberg and Caleb Evans and Kailey Evans. The family would be pleased if memorials were made to Penia Baptist Church Building Fund, 3738 Old Penia Road, Cordele, GA 31015. Arrangements are by Rainey Family Funeral Services.
