Three injured as vehicles collide on Hwy. 300

Peggy King/Cordele Dispatch

Northbound traffic was halted for a while as emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle collision on Hwy. 300 near the Worth County line early Thursday afternoon. Three people were transported to Crisp Regional Hospital by ambulance for treatment of injuries sustained in the mishap that involved a pickup truck and a Jeep Cherokee. Trooper William Batts with the Cordele State Patrol said the truck apparently hydroplaned and traveled from the west side of the road to the east side, striking the Cherokee. His investigation is continuing, he said, and names of those involved were unavailable at presstime.
