ROCHELLE — Lions Club members here are getting ready for their annual Wilcox Farmers Appreciation Day which will be celebrated this Saturday.

ROCHELLE — Lions Club members here are getting ready for their annual Wilcox Farmers Appreciation Day which will be celebrated this Saturday.
Festivities begin in downtown Rochelle at 8 a.m. and continue throughout the day, climaxing with a Kinchafoonee Cowboys concert from 6 to 8 p.m.
Arts and crafts as well as food vendors and animal displays will be set up for the day. Old tractor games are planned for 9 a.m., and a children’s parade will wind through the area at 10 a.m.
Children can participate in peddle tractor races, and entertainment is planned from 10:30 to 12:30. The main parade begins at 1 p.m. Lineup will start at the elementary school parking lot. The parade will travel north on Gordon to 2nd Ave., then turn west on 2nd Ave. and go to Mill St. It will proceed south on Mill St. to 3rd Ave., then turn east on 3rd and go to Ashley.
Parade entries will travel south on Ashley, then east on 7th Ave. and back south on Gordon to the school.
Old tractor games are planned for 2 p.m., and 4-H prize winners will also be announced at that time.
