Submitted Shane Wilson of Cataula kneels beside a 13-foot, 7-inch alligator weighing 680 pounds that he and three friends took out of the Flint River on a recent hunt near Campers Haven. Wilson said it took some four hours to dispatch the alligator, and that DNR officials recorded it as the largest to have ever been taken by hunters in state history.
