CORDELE — A man says he was held at knifepoint and robbed of $15 late Wednesday night when he stopped by a local convenience store on the way back to his hotel room.
The victim told Cordele Police that he had stopped by the Quick Mart located at 501 W. 16th Ave. at around 10:45 p.m. and parked on the side of the building.
He said when he came back out to go to his vehicle, he noticed two black males standing next to it. He said the two stopped him as he was getting into his car and asked him for $5.
That is when he said one of the men pulled a knife and stuck it to his throat while the other man pulled something, he was not sure what, and stuck it to his side. He said the two subjects went through his pockets, taking his wallet and $15, and then fled behind the building.
The victim described one man as being tall, wearing a sock cap and Army-type coveralls. He said the other man was short, but was unsure what the subject was wearing.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call the police department at 276-2921.
