VIENNA - Nancy Joan Peck of Cordele was sentenced last week in Dooly Superior Court to 10 years probation on a theft by taking charge.
Ms. Peck pled guilty before Superior Court Judge T. Harry Hurt and was given a 10-year prison sentence, all of which was probated. A restitution hearing was set for July 8 at which time the court will determine how much she must repay her accusers.
According to court documents, Ms. Peck is accused of taking more than $10,000 from a former employer, WSB Gin & Warehouse in Byromville and Vienna. Stephanie West Chapman, a co-owner of the business, says the amount taken was close to $250,000.
