Child’s family seeks help

— CORDELE - Less than a month ago, four year old Wesley Nicholas Clayton was a healthy little boy. Today, he is in the Children’s Medical Center in Augusta struggling to overcome the effects of a rare form of “E-Coli.”
His great grandmother, Marolyn Green says the strand of bacteria he contracted caused him to go into kidney failure, and he has been on dialysis as a result. His recovery will be slow, she says.
His parents, Cherie and David Smith and Anthony Clayton have incurred “tremendous expenses,” and an account for little Wes has been set up at Planters Bank in Cordele. Any donations will be “greatly appreciated,” Ms. Green says.
