CORDELE -— At least two homes here were broken into Monday. These break-ins followed other burglaries at Aaron’s Sales & Lease Ownership and other locations in the area.
The Cordele Police Department responded to a break-in at a home on E. 11th Avenue. According to reports, the homeowner told police that someone had come in the back door and that items were missing from the home.
The homeowner told police that a male and female subject had been found in the home during an earlier undated incident. The police were not called at that time.
The homeowner reported that articles of clothing were missing including two shirts and two pairs of pants. Damage was done to the back door as well as a bed frame.
At approximately 6:30 p.m. Monday night, police officers responded to a burglary on S. 4th Street.
According to police reports, an unknown individual attempted to enter the home from the back entrance. The homeowner had barricaded the back door with a dresser to keep anyone from entering.
The victim told police that Gatorade and washing powders were missing from the residence. Damage was sustained to the front door and the dresser that was blocking the back door.
A woman, whose home is on Oak Avenue, reported to police that her dog had been stolen. No further information was available on the incidents.
