ABBEVILLE — Investigators with the Wilcox County Sheriff’s Office and the South Central Drug Task Force arrested Justin Joyner, Thursday afternoon for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Investigators observed Joyner, along with another man walking away form a known drug are in east Abbeville. The two men then proceeded to travel, by foot, along U.S. Highway 129 in Abbeville.

Investigators approached the two men and began talking with them. A “pat down” search was conducted on each of the two men. During the pat down investigators discovered a plastic bag in Joyner’s pants pocket which contained a number of smaller bags all containing marijuana.

Joyner was arrested and transported to the Wilcox County Sheriff’s Office. The other man was released.
