CORDELE — Local police were alerted by Cordele Dental Association personnel that a man has been going to different medical personnel pretending to be in pain in order to receive prescription medicine.

Sgt. Charles Dennard said the subject went to the dentist office here last Thursday afternoon as a walk-in patient in need of medical attention.

After being treated and given a prescription, the offender said his wife was on the way with his insurance card and that he would be right back with his co-payment for the $61 office visit fee. He never returned.

The attending dentist then checked around and learned the subject had given the same story when he went to the Medical Center in Americus.

In other activity last Thursday, officers apprehended three persons named on outstanding warrants.

Cpl. Marcus Sales charged Victoria l. Radford, 22, of 2823 U.S. 41 S., after learning during a traffic stop of the car in which she was a passenger that she had an outstanding traffic offense warrant issued by Crisp County.

When her family went to the sheriff’s department and paid her fine, she was released.

Lt. Frank Wise took Lisa Ramsey, 44, of 1116-F McClendon Court into custody after receiving a tip she was walking south on Joe Wright Drive.

When apprehended, she threw down an open can of beer she had in her hand and while reportedly cursing told the officer he didn’t have probable cause to arrest her. She, however, was being sought for battery and probation violation.

Ptl. Chris Forsythe took Willie Lee Parker, 53, of 815 19th Ave. W., into custody when he went to a home in the 900 block of 15th St. S. to try and remove a truck for which he showed a bill of sale. He had been sought for a probation violation.

Sgt. Charles Dennard also filed disorderly conduct charges against Ortiz Smothers, 35, of Vienna, and Darquette Peterson, no age or address listed, after being called to investigate a disturbance at 605 19th Ave. W.
