Cordele — Some 200+ young people and adults attended a Youth Rally sponsored by the Houston Baptist Association Saturday night. The event was hosted by Wenona Baptist Church who provided a meal for attendees. Free Life Church youth team provided praise and worship music for the rally. Free Life youth pastor Bobby Bishop presented a message entitled “Sleeping with the Enemy” with the assitance of the youth team. A personal testimony was given by Mary Mann. During the invitation over a hundred in attendance came down to the altar to pray and there were multiple rededications and professions of faith.

Crisp County Board of Education members said in a news release submitted Tuesday to news media member they regretted to announce Dr. Rhonda Hayes had submitted her resignation as superintendent of the local public school system.
Temporary water cut-off beginning Friday
The City of Cordele Water Department will have water turned off in the area of 16th Ave., east of I-75 and Midway Road, north of US Hwy. 280, including the Industrial Park and surrounding areas. The water will be turned off beginning Friday, April 25, at midnight (12:00 a.m., Saturday, April 26) in order to repair a water leak at the fire hydrant located on Midway Rd. at U. S. Hwy. 280. The water will remain off until repairs are complete (approximately 2 hours).
