Police arrest two for forgery, seven for shoplifting

Cordele — Within a 72-hour period earlier this week, city police charged two persons with forgery and cited seven others for shoplifting at Walmart.

Freddie Williams Jr., 32, of 1116 McClendon Ct., was booked on Monday for first degree forgery for allegedly cashing his mother’s checks without her knowledge.

Courtney Hill, 23, of Warner Robins, was charged on Wednesday with fourth degree forgery after attempting to cash at a local bank a check that had been reported stolen in Warner Robins.

Kimberly Kinard, 25, of 69 Campers Haven Rd., Vienna, and 15-year-old girl who cannot be identified under Georgia juvenile law were the first Walmart shoplifting suspects to be arrested  when they were taken into custody on Monday.

Apprehended for that offense on Tuesday at the city’s largest retailer were Ivana Lewis, 24, of 204 N. Bass St., Samaria Kirksey, 23, of 112 13th St. S., and Stephanie Carter, 22, of 109 13th St. N.

Booked for shoplifting Wednesday at Walmart were Alicia Lucas, 25, of 512 Harrell St., Vienna, and Denitia Passmore, 51, of 307 W. Pine St., Vienna. Passmore was also charged with giving false identity information.

In other activity between Monday and Wednesday, officers:

— Made a pair of aggravated assault arrests on Wednesday.

Gaye Hammonds, 53, of 405 10th St. N., was cited after reportedly pulling a knife during an argument with her 15-year-old nephew.

Shontaneika Walker, 19, of 201 N. Bass St., was cited for both that offense and criminal damage to property after chasing another female with a knife and then scratching the victim’s car with it.

— Took two persons into custody for simple battery.

Songa Jones, 34, of 812 11th Ave. W., was arrested Monday after assaulting a woman that was also dating her boyfriend.

Biltorris Granville, 19, of 325 School Ave., Unadilla, was taken into custody on Tuesday after assaulting his ex-girlfriend. He faces an additional charge of criminal trespass after kicking in the door to her home before the attack.

— Picked up five persons on outstanding warrants.

Tony McKenzie Jr., 22, of 314 18th Ave. W., was picked up Monday for Perry on an unspecified warrant and also was charged with possession of marijuana.

Shonteria Williams, 19, of Macon, was taken into custody on Tuesday for a state probation violation.

Latonia Peacock, 34, of 607 18th Ave. W., and Kevin Green, 20, of 519 First Ave. E. was arrested on Wednesday for probation violation and   failure to appear in court.

Kevin Green, 20, of 519 First Ave. E., was charged with both probation violation and giving false identity to a law enforcement officer.

— Ticketed Antivious Hamilton, 27, of 712 13th St. S., on Wednesday for violating the city’s baggy pants ordinance and cited Ronquashia Ashley, 19 of 312 Eighth Ave. W., on Wednesday for disorderly conduct after a fight she had with other females.

— Issued three traffic citations to Henry Nelson, 64, of 302 22nd Ave. E.

He was charged Wednesday with a stop sign violation, DUI and hit-and-run.

— Received theft complaints from residents of 511 10th Ave. W. and 507 Fourth St. N. but gave no details as to what was stolen or how access was gained to any missing items.
