Couple steals electronics from Walmart

Cordele — According to an item posted on WALB TV’s website at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday night, Cordele police are looking for a couple who walked into the 16th Avenue Walmart and walked out with thousands of dollars of electronics they didn't pay for.

Detective Ketorie Sales said, "the couple noticed that there was a cabinet that was loose. The male then worked his way into the cabinet, and grabbed a couple of items.”

The couple ended up taking seven electronic tablets and two Nikon cameras worth more than $3,000.

To help the man, the female allegedly blocked his view and watched for anyone coming down the aisle in front of them,Sales said.

"It was pretty bold because it was actually one aisle over from the cashier," he added.

Sales further explained that the couple pulled out things they didn’t want to purchase or steal and stuffed them in the aisle. Then he said they pulled out Walmart bags that they brought in with them and started bagging up stolen items. Most of their activity was captured on surveillance tape.

The thieves were then able to walk right past the door greeter with no questions asked, the detective explained.

Sales says the male suspect is about 5’11” and weighs 200 pounds while the female is about 5’7” and 270 pounds.
