Alleged shoplifter faces additional charges

Cordele — Initially arrested only for shoplifting items from Walmart on Thursday, a 46-year-old local resident wound up facing more serious charges.

An activity report submitted Friday by the Cordele Police Department to local news media members identified the alleged offender as Eddie Palmer, of 314 10th St. S.

In addition to the shoplifting citation issued to him, Palmer was also booked for possession of tools for the commission of a crime, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

In activity on Wednesday, officers:

— Arrested Gail Wesley, 55, of 1513-B 13th Ave. E., for shoplifting (second offense) at Gas’N’Go on 16th Ave. E.

— Cited Robert Hall, 51, of 718 Cloverdale Circle, for disorderly conduct after he allegedly started a disturbance at Petro Station.
