Cordele — Crisp County Board of Education is expected to make Dr. Rhonda Hayes the county's new superintendent of schools in a called meeting today.
Dr. Hayes who currently is employed with the Dalton public schools as an assistant superintendent will be coming to Crisp County prior to the end of the school year, and the current superintendent, Jay Brinson will be working with her in an advisory position.
Board member Lydia Adkins who chaired the search committee says, "we believe Dr. Hayes will be a 'good fit' for us." Just over two weeks ago, the BOE named Hayes as the only finalist for the job. State law requires that the board wait at least 14 days after that announcement before officially selecting a superintendent.
