Kenneth King Ervin

HAWKINSVILLE -- Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth King Ervin will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2005 in the Lynwood Baptist Church in Pulaski County. The Elder Calvin Howard will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mr. Moriah Church Cemetery in Unadilla.

Mr. Ervin, 37, died Wednesday, August 31, 2005 in Dodge County Medical Center.

He was born in Pulaski County to Maple Lee Harrell and the late Johnny B. "Pete" Ervin. He was a graduate of the Dooly County High school in 1986 and a member of the Lynwood Baptist Church. He received a degree from the Middle Georgia Technical College in Warner Robins. He was a salesman and a computer tech specialist.

Survivors include his mother, Maple Lee Harrell of Hawkinsville; 20 brothers and sisters, Kathleen Tillman (Charles), Wanda Whitehead (Roy), Johnny Ervin Jr., Patricia Ervin, Darrell Harrell (Tina) and Arlene Pickett, all of Hawkinsville, Shirley Ervin, Willie Ervin (Sabrina), Carol Brown (Bobby), of Unadilla, Steven Ervin (Paula) of Columbus, Pebbles Slappy (Marvin) of Cochran, Sheila Lester (Charlie) of Perry, Jeron Duhart (Jeanette) of Texas, Demetria Duhart, Andra Duhart, Tequilla Webb (Marvin) and Lonnie Dollar (Della) of Atlanta, Telly Duhart of Macon, Jamero Duhart of Statesboro and Marthann Ervin of Miami, Fla.; grandmother, Annie Bell Ervin of Unadilla; eleven aunts; six uncles and a host of other relatives.

The body will be placed in the church at 12:30 p.m. The family may be contacted at the home of Johnny Ervin Jr., Rt. 2 Box 106, in Hawkinsville.

Hazel H. "Tensy" Shepard

CORDELE -- Funeral services for Hazel H. "Tensy" Shepard, 76, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2005 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services with interment following at Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele.

Mrs. Shepard died Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at Cordelia Manor in Cordele .

Born Thursday, September 27, 1928 in Tallahassee, FL, she was the daughter of the late Reed Joel Hartsfield and Daisy Cummins Hartsfield. Mrs. Shepard had been a resident of Cordele for about seven years, having moved here from Miami FL. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her husband, Hollis Marion Shepard of Cordele; a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia Ann and Robert Wike of Tavernier, FL; two sons, Joel Glen Shepard of Tavernier, FL and Hollis Marion Shepard, III of Fort Lauderdale, FL; a granddaughter, Heather Shepard of Los Angeles, CA; three grandsons, Joel G. Shepard, II of Citra, FL, Jared R. Shepard of Pembroke Pines, FL, and Jacob Shepard of California; her mother- in-law, Hazel I. Shepard of Cordele; a sister-in-law and her husband, Myra and Clarence Hughes of Cordele, sister-in-law, Glenda Lanier of Albany and a brother-in-law and his wife, Robert Jackson and Susan Shepard of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She was preceded in death by three borthers, Reed Joel Hartsfield, Rudolph Thomas Hartsfield and Ashford Hartsfield and a sister, Joyce Leonard.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Crisp Regional Hospice, 1010 N. 6th Street, Cordele, 31015.

William Curtis Watson

CORDELE -- Funeral services for William Curtis Watson were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September, 1, 2005 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Wilcox County.

David B. Yates welcomed family and friends to the service. The opening prayer was offered by Rose Kerr and the closing prayer was offered by Susan Johnston. Mark E. Draney gave the eulogy and Bishop Terry L. Roberts offered comfort during his remarks.

Mr. Watson's daughter Julie Watson Brewer, organist, accompanied Chorister Jennie B. Alvarada as she led in the singing of "How Great Thou Art" and "God Be With You". Reva Paget, violinist, played these musical selections: "Scotland Blackberry Blossom", "Scotland The Brave" and "Dixieland".

Pallbearers were: H. Scott Story, John T. Patterson, Christopher D. Utz, Melvin E. Watson, Ernest M. \"Ernie\" Waston and Stephen H. Pearce. Honorary pallbearers were: Olan E. Watson, Thomas J. Watson, Herman M. Watson, Holt L. Pearce, Rulon K. Jensen and Wallace L. Jensen.

James Almand

ASHBURN -- Funeral services for James Almand, 75, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2005 at the Ashburn First Baptist Church with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn.

Mr. Almand died Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at his residence following an extended illness.

Roberta B. Rawls

ROCHELLE -- Funeral services for Roberta B. Rawls, 83, will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2005 at Wilcox County High School Gym. The Rev. Leonard G. Billings and Rev. Harold Marsh will officiate. Interment will follow at Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Rawls died Saturday, August 27, 2005 from South Fulton Medical Center in Atlanta.
