Willie Jean Breedlove Brown
CORDELE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Willie Jean "Will" Breedlove Brown, 93, of Cordele, formerly of Pinehurst, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005, in the Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, Pinehurst. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Church Cemetery, Pinehurst. The Rev. David Thomas will officiate the services.
Mrs. Brown died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005, in Crisp Regional Nursing and Rehab.
A native of Sumter County, she was the daughter of the late Dennis and Minnie Breedlove and the widow of the late Willie B. Brown. She was educated in the Sumter County School System and joined Pleasant Valley Baptist Church at an early age. Later she joined Evergreen Baptist Church of Pinehurst, where she served on the usher board. She also was a homemaker.
Survivors include two children, Jackie Glenn of Orlando, Fla., and Andre Glenn of Cordele; a sister, Agnes Breedlove Lewis of Cordele; two brothers, Roosevelt Breedlove Sr. of cordele, and Washington Breedlove of Miami, Fla.; a devoted niece, Williene Bryant of Cordele; two devoted friends, Mary Green and Willie Mae Davis of Pinehurst; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Vera T. Stripling
CORDELE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Vera T. Stripling will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14 in the sanctuary of Bethel CME Church with the pastor Rev. Jane E. Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele.
Processional will be led by Pastor James Thomas with a solo by M.R. Williams. Prayer and scripture reading will be given by Pastor Jane Thomas. Musical melodies will be rendered by Erskine Weaver and poem will be read by Marcus Rivers. A solo entitled "Amazing Grace" will be performed. The family will be presented an African American Heirloom Bible as a keepsake from the funeral home staff.
Mrs. Stripling died Friday, Dec. 7 at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele.
Survivors include her godson, Leroy Anderson and wife, Mrs. Johnnie Anderson of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister, Vera Mae (A.J.) Rivers of Cordele; aunt, Mrs. Annie Lane of Grovania; nieces, Gwendolyn Thrower of Cincinnati, Ohio, Glenda Rivers of Atlanta, and Faine (Shelton) Dove of East Orange, NJ; nephew, Greg (Wendy) Rivers of Panama City, Fla.; a host of other relatives and friends to include Jo Stone, Daisy Rainey, The Nutt Family, Sarah Carroll, Ida Rose Oliver, Gloria Patrick and Mary Lane; four grand nieces, two grand nephews, two great grand nephews, and devoted cousin, Herbert Sparks of Cincinnati, OH.

HAWKINSVILLE -- Funeral services for Mary A. McGriff will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005, in Mattie Richland Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. McGriff died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005.
Survivors include her children, Dennis McGriff, Debra McGriff-Lumpkin and Shamekia McGriff; sisters and brothers, Annie Mae Singletary, Betty Bembry, Lessie Bembry, Mildred Walker, Jackie McGriff and Dontae McGriff; and six grandchildren.

Joseph P. 'Joe' Taylor
BLUEFIELD, W.Va. -- Funeral services for Joseph P. "Joe" Taylor, 86, formerly of Vienna, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005, in the chapel of Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home of Vienna. CORDELE -- Inez Nipper Pate, 86, of Cordele died in Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005.
She was born Wednesday, Oct. 29, 1919, in Crisp County and was the daughter of the late Noah Monroe Nipper and Ethel Helen Smith Nipper and the widow of Pearson Hobson Pate. She was a retired inspector for Gold Kist Peanut Mill and a member of Sonrise Worship Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 13, 2005, in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. Interment will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele.
Mrs. Pate is survived by her children, Deborah Pate Buchanan and John Pate both of Cordele; her special friend, Inez Richardson of Cordele; grandchildren, Tanya Reed of Atlanta, Jennifer Clark and Angie Clark both of Cordele, Tiffany Vaughn and Tammy Espe, both of Cordele, Terry Pate of Sylvester, Tracy Pate of Tampa, Fla., and Sandra Porter of Macon; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Felton Pearson Pate and a brother, Willie Lee Nipper .
