Willie Jean Breedlove Brown
CORDELE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Willie Jean "Will" Breedlove Brown, 93, of Cordele, formerly of Pinehurst, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005, in the Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, Pinehurst. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Church Cemetery, Pinehurst. The Rev. David Thomas will officiate the services.
Mrs. Brown died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005, in Crisp Regional Nursing and Rehab.
A native of Sumter County, she was the daughter of the late Dennis and Minnie Breedlove and the widow of the late Willie B. Brown. She was educated in the Sumter County School System and joined Pleasant Valley Baptist Church at an early age. Later she joined Evergreen Baptist Church of Pinehurst, where she served on the usher board. She also was a homemaker.
Survivors include two children, Jackie Glenn of Orlando, Fla., and Andre Glenn of Cordele; a sister, Agnes Breedlove Lewis of Cordele; two brothers, Roosevelt Breedlove Sr. of cordele, and Washington Breedlove of Miami, Fla.; a devoted niece, Williene Bryant of Cordele; two devoted friends, Mary Green and Willie Mae Davis of Pinehurst; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Vera T. Stripling
CORDELE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Vera T. Stripling will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14 in the sanctuary of Bethel CME Church with the pastor Rev. Jane E. Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele.
Processional will be led by Pastor James Thomas with a solo by M.R. Williams. Prayer and scripture reading will be given by Pastor Jane Thomas. Musical melodies will be rendered by Erskine Weaver and poem will be read by Marcus Rivers. A solo entitled "Amazing Grace" will be performed. The family will be presented an African American Heirloom Bible as a keepsake from the funeral home staff.
Funeral services for Donny Derrell Burnett of Cordele were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. Rev. James Spires and Rev. Ray Burnette conducted the rites.

Ernest Braziel, Jr.
Ernest Braziel, Jr., age 97 of Rochelle, passed away Friday, March 1, at his residence. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 16, in the First Baptist Church of Rochelle. Reverend David Gordon and Reverend Jim Wiley officiated. Visitation was one hour from 1-2 p.m. at the Braziel residence at 1015 5th Avenue, Rochelle. Interment was in the family plot in the Morningside Cemetery with Military Honors and Masonic Rites.

Funeral services for Bettye Dean Stripling will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 20, in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. The committal service will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service Thursday beginning at 1p.m.

Graveside services for Anne C. Kitchens, 86, were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Mar. 15, 2014 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Rev. David Thompson officiated the service. Kay Williams, soloist, sang “The Lord’s Prayer” a cappella and Shearer Turton sang “How Great Thou Art” a cappella.
Ann Starr Culpepper
Laura Anthony Starr Culpepper, born March 12, 1924, passed away in Spartanburg, S.C. on Thursday, March 13. She was the daughter of Frank and Ruth Starr, of Cordele. She was the cherished and loving wife of the late Quincy Culpepper for 59 years. They made their home in Atlanta. where they raised their three children. Ann graduated from Georgia Women’s College in 1946. Ann and Quincy were members of Oak Grove United Methodist Church where Ann volunteered with many charitable activities such as Meals on Wheels and also playing piano in Sunday School.
