I was recently sick, and where do you go when you’re ill and do not have a "regular" physician? You go to a walk-in clinic.

I am a resident of Arabi, so it was only natural that I would choose the Arabi Health Clinic to take care of my illness.

When I pulled into the parking lot, there was one other car there so I thought to myself, "Yes, its not busy!" As I walked in the door I noticed that the sign read the clinic was open every weekday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., closed from 12 p.m.-1 p.m. for lunch.

This was about 11:30 a.m. so I wasn't sure if I could be seen before lunch, but I thought surely with thirty minutes until 12 p.m. there would be enough time to be seen.

Unfortunately, the P.A. had somewhere to be that afternoon so I couldn't be seen after lunch, and I was then asked if it was an emergency.

What kind of question is that? If it were an emergency, I would hope I had enough sense to go to the E.R.! Anyway, I was told to come back the next day around 3 p.m. No one told me that I would need to have/make an appointment so I left.

The next day I left work EARLY so I could get there by 3 p.m. I got there around 3:30 p.m. No one was in the waiting room; one car was in the parking lot....the receptionist asked how she could help.

I told her that I was here because I had an extremely sore throat and needed to see the doctor. I was told that she was "booked."

I don't know how you can be "booked" if it is a walk-in clinic. Needless to say, I still did not see a doctor!

I am not a big believer of showing your behind when things do not go your way, but let’s just say I made an exception this time. I mean I went the day before, and was told to come back the next day. I went back like I was asked, and they were booked?!

Had I known two weeks earlier I was going to be sick, I would have made an appointment and MAYBE been seen.

What is the point of having a clinic in Arabi if they only accept people some of the time and are only open with a doctor present half of that time?
