Employee bonuses questioned

Editor:

I read with disbelief the article on city employees receiving Christmas bonuses. I have no ill will towards the employees themselves but the City Commissioners should be more frugal with our (that's right, “our,” not their) tax money!

Although not on the scale of AIG or other bonuses that have been in the news lately, how can you make this kind of bone headed decision with local unemployment over 10%, local teachers and state workers being furloughed, and local property taxes going up?

Do you so called leaders not understand how to get by on less money? No luxuries, only necessities are the call of most people at this time."NOT BONUSES!"

I have seen many signs calling for experience to be elected in the upcoming city races and my experience will be put to good use throwing out the experience that makes these dunderhead-ed decisions!
