CORDELE — Crisp County Middle School made its last tennis outings before spring break victorious ones by downing Turner County’s girls and boys by comfortable margins this past Friday.

Coach Paula Paquette’s future Lady Cougars romped to a 5-0 triumph that improved their record to 4-3. Coach Stacy Stephens’ future Cougars prevailed 4-1 to run their report card to 5-2. Both will hit the courts again on April 2 at Berrien County.

“I was very pleased at how focused our girls were,” Paquette said. “Their performance was what I’ve been looking for all year as they went out there and quickly took care of business like I had been asking them to do.

“Hopefully, we can carry that type effort over to our remaining three regular season matches before we take part in the upcoming conference tournament that we’ll be hosting.

“I thought we played well and continued to get better,” Stephens said. “I look forward to us finishing strong once we return from spring break and begin seriously preparing for the conference tournament to be played on our courts in a couple of weeks.”
