CORDELE — Rain didn’t stop the show this past Saturday night at Watermelon Capital Speedway where drivers and fans alike waited out a 1:45 delay in order to complete a heated racing card.
Track officials will no doubt join racers and spectators in hoping to get a break from the weather this Saturday when another regular racing program is on tap along with a child’s dash for candy during intermission.
The top finishers in the most recent competition were as follows:
Bandoleros — Blaise Rutherford, Fitzgerald, and Marlee Graham, Leesburg.
Claimers — Amos Farmer, Unadilla; T.C. Owens, Ocilla; Michael Olds, Cordele, Troy Owens, Ocilla, and James Yawn, Cordele.
Mini-Stock — Jimmy Chancy, Kathleen; Joseph Lewis, Hopeful; Mark Rowley, Perry; Zeb Johnston, Sylvester, and Todd Moore, Cordele.
Legends — Cindy Anderson, Concord; Jason Settles, Vienna; Kim Kelley, Rochelle; Chad Passmore, Cordele, and Joe Parker, Vienna.
