Trojans’ season comes to an end in Region 3-A play-in struggle

Cordele — Fullington Academy’s boys basketball season “played out” Tuesday in a Region 3-A “play-in” game held at tournament host Crisp Academy.

Needing to beat Grace Christian in order to extend their season and earn a trip to state, the Trojans dropped a 54-51 heartbreaker to a Cougars team they had split with during the regular season.

That outcome gave coach Van Bailey’s squad a final 6-17 report card against what he labeled “without a doubt the toughest schedule we’ve faced in my six years here.

For complete game details, please see our Thursday, Feb. 20, issue.
