Injury mars Trojans' split with Panthers

Cordele — For the third straight year, the injury situation has reared its ugly head in the boys basketball ranks at Fullington Academy.

The latest incident came Friday night when post player Jim Hartin suffered early in the game what initially was thought and still could prove to be a broken ankle during the Trojans’ 59-49 loss Friday to Tiftarea Academy.

All of Friday night’s news wasn’t bad for the host school, though, as in handing Tiftarea’s girls a 38-28 loss Bailey’s Lady Trojans posted a third straight win and a second victory within a week over the Lady Panthers.

Both Fullington teams will be at home on Monday at 6:30 vs. Citizens Christian and on Tuesday against Westfield. They’ll then open Region 2-A GISA play on Friday at Georgia Christian.
