Cordele — Sluggish starts by both of its teams didn’t keep Crisp County High out of the win column in both ends of a Friday night twin bill vs. fellow Region 1-AAAA member Americus-Sumter.
The Lady Cougars of coach Barrett Wilkes and the Cougars of coach Terry Smith ironically wound up with the same number of points while almost carding identical final scores in winning for a third straight time.
With their 57-47 victory, the Crisp girls reached the .500 mark overall at 7-7 and improved to 5-2 in league play. With their 57-48 triumph, the Crisp boys surpassed the .500 mark for the first time this season both overall (7-6) and in the region (4-3).
Following their home games last night against Turner County, the Cougars and Lady Cougars have another home twin bill on Tuesday against Albany High.
