Toddlers found wandering 16th Avenue

CORDELE — A mother faces charges of child cruelty after her two children were found wandering a busy street late Thursday night.
Just after 10 p.m officers responded to the area of Daylight Donuts in reference to two toddlers (ages 1 and 2) found in the middle of 16th Avenue.
The mother of the children, 23-year old Courtney Cotton of Vienna, was eventually found asleep at The Travel Lodge Hotel, located at 1618 East 16th Avenue. She was unaware that her children were not in the room. Officials with the Department of Family and Children’s Services (DFACS) were notified and the children were turned over to them.
Cotton was charged with Cruelty to Children in the 2nd Degree and transported to Crisp County Law Enforcement Center. 9-12 Press release- Cotton
