Police search for car thief

CORDELE — Police continue to search for a car thief that fled police Tuesday.
On Sunday, October 11, Yomekia Anderson-Coleman of Grayson, GA reported her 2008 Pontiac G6 stolen from the Best Western on E 16th Ave.
On Tuesday, October 13  the vehicle’s license plate hit as a stolen vehicle on one of the Warwick Police Department license plate readers and a chase began. The Crisp County Sheriff’s Office assisted. The driver fled from the vehicle in Worth County and law enforcement searched the area. Detective Ketorie Sales from the Cordele Police Department responded to the scene and processed the vehicle. Sales stated that he has recovered several pieces of evidence from the vehicle that are now being routed to the proper places for further processing. It could be several weeks before the department receives any answers back on those items. The department says they will do everything to keep citizens well informed on the situation.
Ssgt Jeremy Taylor said anybody that has information or has possibly seen the vehicle around town should contact the Cordele Police Department.
