Shooting victims identified

CORDELE — Police are still searching for the person or persons responsible for a shooting Wednesday.
At 8:05 Wednesday night officers responded to the 400 block of West 23rd Avenue near Holsey-Cobb Village. Two victims were transported from the scene; 27-year old Eric Mason of 1006 Gum Dr. who suffered a gunshot to the abdomen and 22-year old Antonio Sanders of 216 West 27th Avenue who was shot in the right leg.
Both victims were transported to Crisp Regional Hospital by personal vehicle and reports indicate that their wounds were not life threatening.
According to Ssgt Jeremy Taylor, detectives with the department are following up on some leads, but there is no further information on any possible suspects at this time. No motive for the shooting has been established as of yet. The Cordele Dispatch will continue to follow this story and provide up to date information as it is released by law enforcement.
