DOOLY — Another citizen has fallen victim to a collision with a train, this time in Dooly County when the logging truck he was driving collided with a CSX train.
According to reports from the Georgia State Patrol the accident occured at 5:10 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon at a railroad crossing on Mount Pleasant Church Road. The driver of the truck, identified as 35-year old Lerisco Lester of Vienna, was an employee of Clary Logging Company of Cordele was traveling east and failed to yield to the train. The train collided with the truck in the cab area of the passenger side. Lester died of injuries he sustained in the crash.
There were no injuries reported by train employees.
