Get in the Christmas spirit with Winter Wonderland and Parade

Tube down 75-Foot Snow Slide

CORDELE — It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas and this year at least Friday night, a portion of the city will be enjoying a WHITE CHRISTMAS.
Cordele Main Street and First Friday of Cordele will present the city’s first Winter Wonderland Friday, December 4 from 4-8 PM at 105 East 9th Avenue. (In front of Sam Shortline Depot). The main attraction will be the opportunity to tube down a 75 foot Snow Slide. Kiddies will be able to meet jolly old Saint Nick and have their picture taken sponsored by Planters First Bank. Empire Dance and Performing Arts Studio will present a One Act Play entitled “All Aboard Cordele…. How Did We Get Here?” with shows at 5:30, 6:30, 7:00 and 7:30 PM. The Cordele Masonic Lodge will have food available for purchase at the event.
Other sponsors for the event include; SAM Shortline Excursion Train, Cordele-Crisp Chamber of Commerce, Cordele-Crisp Tourism Committee, Crisp Area Arts Alliance, City of Cordele and Crisp County Power Commission.
Citizens can take time out from play in the Winter Wonderland to enjoy the city’s Annual Christmas Parade, sponsored by the Cordele Lions Club. “Rock Around the Christmas Tree” this year as parade entrants share what their favorite Christmas tune is. The parade will begin at 6 PM and travel south on 7th Street ending at 15th Avenue.
There is no admission to the event so grab the family and come on out and enjoy a Winter Wonderland in the South.
