CORDELE — A 16-year old juvenile has been arrested in connection with a string of thefts from entering automobiles.
Multiple vehicles were entered and items stolen from around Cedar Lake Subdivision and District Line Road in the county as well as 8-10 others reported in the city limits.
The Crisp County Sheriff’s Office and Cordele Police Department worked together on the investigation.
The juvenile, whose name cannot be released due to age, is charged with Criminal Damage to Property and Attempt to Commit Entering Auto, according to Sheriff Billy Hancock.
Hancock said they have three other suspects, currently being held on unrelated charges, they believe could be connected to the crimes. He said the investigation is ongoing and more charges could be forthcoming.
During the investigation multiple stolen items were recovered including firearms, car stereos, and tools. Hancock advised citizens to exercise caution when purchasing items, especially firearms.
“If you believe that you may be in possession of a stolen firearm bring it in to the Sheriff’s Office,” he said. “It could prevent you from being charged with receiving stolen property.”
