William L. Clark

ABBEVILLE — William L. Clark age 86 of Abbeville, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015 at his residence.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 10th in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.  Visitation will be one hour before the service from 1-2 PM in the church.  Reverend Jamie Wilson and Dr. David O’Hara will officiate.  A eulogy will be given by Glen Clark.  Interment will be in the family plot in the Antioch Cemetery.
Mr. Clark was born on November 17, 1929 in Rochelle.  He was son of the late William Reginald Clark and Winifred Hunt Peebles.  He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and the American Legion Post 71.  He was a retired Machinist from General Cables and raised cows since 1994.  He and Mrs. Clark had just celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary.  He served his country with honor in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.  He is preceded in death by a sister, Jeanita Kelly.
Survivors include:  wife-Barbara Clark of Abbeville, son-William L. (Sandra) Clark, Jr. of Victoria, Texas, daughters-Cindy Clark of Tampa, Florida, Kathryn Wimmert of Alexandria, Louisianna and Melissa Bryant (David) O’Hara of Valrico, Florida, brothers-Alfred Joseph (Lucy) Clark of Athens, Carl (Lena) Clark of Valrico, Florida, Virgil Hugh (Shirley) Clark of Abbeville and David Clark of Rochelle, sisters-Sue (Tommy Day) Wilson of Abbeville, Jean Hinz of Demorest, Georgia and Yvonne Lovett of Fitzgerald, 6-grandchildren-William L. Clark III, Marcus Allan Clark, Kevin Ross Wimmert, Courtney Marie Wimmert, Kelly Luren Bryant and Emily Grace Bryant and 2-great-grandchildren-Lilly and Brantley Clark.
Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangements.
