CORDELE — Funeral services for Cathy Elaine Young, 66, of Cordele will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2015 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services.  The committal service will follow in Cedar Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.  Cathy passed away Thursday at her residence.  She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Young.  She was born in Crisp County and was the daughter of the late Hunter Orlando Wade and Edna Etta Lewis Wade.  She was a retired seamstress and a member of the Freewill Baptist faith.  Cathy loved her family and her furry babies, Spanky and Patches.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Billy Young; a son and his wife, James and Katrina Young of Ashburn; four brothers and their wives, Simon and Carol Wade, Marvin and Linda Wade, David and Debbie Wade and J.R. Wade, all of Cordele; two sisters, Nathalee Wade of Cordele and Etta Blackie of Pendergrass; three grandchildren and their spouses, Carolynn and Calvin Caton, Carlton and Samantha Young and Casie Young, all of Ashburn; two great-grandchildren, Addison Caton and Madelynn Young; and several nieces and nephews.
