CORDELE — Funeral services for Stella Cason Ray will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 13, 2015 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Tremont Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 12, 2015 from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ray, 90, passed away Friday, December 11, 2015 at her residence in Cordele, Ga. She was a native of Cordele and the daughter to the late Walter Lee Cason and the late Lillian Singletary Cason. Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by her husband Albert Ray Sr.; children: Albert David Ray, Jr. and Virginia Gail Ray; her siblings: Otis Cason, Russell Cason, Henry Cason and Emmie Yawn. Mrs. Ray was a member of Pleasant Hill Freewill Baptist Church. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Tremont Homemakers.
Mrs. Ray is survived by her daughters: Glenda Ray Gill of Cordele, Ga. and Patricia Ray Breedlove and her husband Wendell of Pitts, Ga.; daughter-in-law: Sheryl Ray of Cordele, Ga.; brother: Mance Cason and his wife Janice of Morehead City, NC.; sister: Delana Franks of Nashville, TN.; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
