BIG CANOE, GA — Fred Williams passed away peacefully on Sunday December 13, 2015 at the age of 67.
Fred is survived by his wife of 15 years Patricia; his mother, Helen (Banny) Williams; his daughter, Farrar Williams and her husband, Peter Orvetti; son, Jonathan Williams and wife Mary; step-daughter, Kris Montgomery and husband Marc; step-son, Gregg York; his sister, Barbara Sherman and husband, John; his nieces, Teka Long and family and Wendy LeMaster and family; his uncle, Joe Hickox and wife, Carolyn; and his grandchildren, Porter Orvetti, Miles Orvetti, Chelsey Scott, Taylor Ramsey, Nicole Germaux, and Jessi Yingling.
Fred was born on January 20, 1948 in Crisp County Georgia to John and Helen Williams.  He attended Georgia Tech with an athletic scholarship.  After college he made Atlanta his permanent home where he started his own company building tennis courts.  His career path took him into a variety of self-made sales positions including VP of Sales for Delloitte Consulting.  In 2007 he retired as Senior Business Developer from Jefferson Wells.
In 2005, he and his wife, Patricia, made their permanent home Big Canoe, Georgia where Fred became an active member of the Big Canoe Chapel and was president of the Big Canoe Chapel Cemetery Board.  Besides his love for his family and friends, his passions included serving as commissioner of the Big Canoe Men’s Pool Group; turkey hunting; golfing; poker tournaments; backgammon tournaments; bridge tournaments; all varieties of fishing.
All are welcome to attend a graveside service which is scheduled at noon, December 18, 2015 at the Big Canoe Cemetery – a memorial service to celebrate Fred’s life will follow at the Big Canoe Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be sent to the American Cancer Society designated Research, Ducks Unlimited or Music Mission Kiev.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory in Jasper.
