ARABI — Funeral services for Charles David Powell of Arabi will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2016 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services.  The committal service will follow in Zion Hope Cemetery.  The family will meet with friends Friday evening from 6:00 til 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.   Charles, 67, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Coliseum Medical Center in Macon.  He was preceded in death by his wife Jackie Delorse Gilliam Powell.  He was born in Turner County and was the son of the late Walter Isaiah and Ida Lou Young Powell.  He was the owner/operator of Powell Trucking Company.  Charles is survived by his children and their spouses, Charles Ray Powell and Janet Marie Chastain of Cordele, Walter David and Patsy Powell of Arabi, Trisha and Gary Teasdale, and Brenda Powell, all of Cordele; his companion, Valorie Emmett of Arabi a sister and her husband, Harriett and James Cross of Vienna; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Powell and Fred Powell.  Arrangements are by Rainey Family Funeral Services.  An online guestbook is available at www.raineyfuneral.com
