COBB — Funeral services for Michael James Walter of Cobb will be held Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Lakeview Baptist Church, 472 Flintside Drive, Cobb, GA 31735 in Sumter County. Rev. Bryan L. Bentley will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery .  The family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the church.
Michael, 46, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.  He was born in Vineland, NJ and was an electronics tech.  He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church and of Griffin Moose Lodge #1503.
Michael is survived by his father, James N. Walter of Griffin; mother and step-father, Teresa and Ronald Renew of Cobb; grandmother, Hilda Bradley of Cobb; a brother and his wife, David Troy and Elizabeth Walter of Griffin; a sister and her husband, MelissaLynn and David Jenkerson of McDonough;  two aunts and their husbands, Patricia and Michael Bowen of Cobb and Deborah and H.W. Harvey of Weeki Wachee, FL; an uncle, Claud Walter of Griffin; and a niece and three nephews, Megan Jenkerson, Jacob Jenkerson, Isaac Jenkerson and Garrett Jenkerson.
