CORDELE — The funeral services for the late Mrs. Patricia Wiggins of Cordele, who departed this life on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Crisp Regional Medical Center in Cordele, GA, will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from the Bethel CME Church in Cordele, GA, with the Pastor, Reverend Cheryl E. Goliday, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, GA.
A time to be Born:  Patricia Wells Wiggins was born in Dyer, TN on February 6, 1939 to the late Charles Wells and the late Mary Elizabeth Booker
A time to Learn:  She received her education at Rosenwald High School in Trenton, TN.  She received an Associate Degree at Edward Water Business School in Jacksonville, FL.
A time to Serve: Patricia Wells Wiggins, aka Gran, accepted Christ at an early age.  She began her walk with the Lord at Dyer Christian Methodist Episcopal Church of Dyer, TN, and ended her walk at Bethel CME Church in Cordele, GA, where she served faithfully until her health started declining.
A time to Love:  She was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. John Wiggins.  As time brings about many changes, the two chose different roads in life but remained the greatest of friends.
A time to Give:  Gran started teaching at St. Paul Gillespie-Selden Learning Center in 1971.  She was a dedicated and faithful teacher to her students, parents, and her job.  Gran was the first Black woman to work in the Crisp County Courthouse.
A time to Mourn:  Gran’s cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of her one loving daughter, Raymell (Sammy, Sr.) John of Trenton, TN; four wonderful grandchildren, Montavious (Lorraine) Wells, Mary (Michael) Pratt, Sammy John, Jr. (Jessica Harris), all of Cordele, GA, and Elliott (Yashlyn) Roberson of Savannah, GA; two sisters, Jacqueline Wells, Myra (Jeff) Montgomery, both of Stone Mountain, GA; one brother, Charles Wells of Memphis, TN; two nieces, Whitney Montgomery, Toni Wells; one nephew, Darron Wells; eight great grands, Morgan, Jeremiah, Kaden, Eden, Quintavious, Dichelle, Michael, and Cortinez (Latoya) Thomas; three great nieces, Jordan, Tia, Tyla; a special young, lady, that she adopted into her family, Ms. Jacqueline Nelson and her son, Nicholas Vance; some special friends, Annie Ruth Rogers, Mary D. Jones, Gladys Foster, Mae Rivers, Willene Kennedy, Tommy Pressey, Erskine Weaver, Ouida Carr, Betty Jones, Catherine Ray, the Oncology Department at Crisp Regional Hospital, the special people of Reflections Hospice, and a host of other sorrowing friends.
