CORDELE — Funeral services for Allene Walker Maddox of Cordele will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2016 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services with the committal service following in Arabi Cemetery. The family will meet with friends prior to the service Saturday beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Allene, 90,  passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Cordele Health and Rehab.  A loving wife and mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Eugene M. Maddox. Born in Tift County, she was the daughter of the late Sidney and Myrtle Selph Walker.  She was a graduate of East Crisp High school and later attended Berry College in Rome.  She retired from Cordele Uniform and was an active member of Hatley Baptist Church.  Allene is survived by her children, two daughters and their husbands, Janice and Winn Self of Warm Springs and  Donna and Mark Rogers of Cordele and two sons and their wives, Randy  and Monique Maddox of Cumming and Sandy and Martha Maddox of Cleveland, TN; grandchildren, Edwin Self and his wife, Alyssa, Libby Self and Emily Self, all of Warm Springs, Katelyn Rogers of Cordele, Stephanie Maddox and Alexis Maddox of Cumming, and Matthew Maddox and Mary Martha Maddox, both of Cleveland, TN;  three sisters, Jonell Wood, Juanita Thompson and Marcene Freeman and her husband, Rev. Royce Freeman; a sister-in-law, Camille Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
