ARABI — Funeral services for Erika Sumner of Arabi will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2016 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Erika  passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016 at her residence.  She was born in Augberg, Germany and was the daughter of the late Matias and Maria Brunn Fritz.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic faith. Erika loved her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Darryl Sumner of Arabi; six children, Eric Sumner of Barnberg, Germany, Angela White, Daniela Smith and Daniel Sumner and his wife, Cathy, all of Cordele, David Sumner and his wife, Barbara of Cobb and Karen Bechlimer of Passau, Germany; two sisters, Sonie Weiss and Irene Bredel, both of Germany; 27 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Flowers will be accepted but the family requests that any donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Tribute Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
