Frances Bedgood Fisher

CORDELE – A Celebration of Life service for Frances Bedgood. Fisher, 87, was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016. Father Larry Williams officiated. Also participating in the service were Bettye Young as a reader and Dr. Guy Young led “The Prayers of the People.” Burial followed at Sunnyside Cemetery.
Eula Jo Sheffield, pianist, played before and after the service. She also played a musical interlude of “Amazing Grace” and “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee.”
Pallbearers were: Carl Young, Guy Young, Kyle Young, B. I. Thornton, IV, Melton Raines and Will Phillips.
Mrs. died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016 at Crisp Regional Hospital. She was born in Arabi, Georgia to the late Richmond Ashley Bedgood and the late Lucille Williams Bedgood.  She is the widow of Clarence Fisher. She is preceded in death by her sisters: Lucile Phillips and Ann Raines. She was employed with the FBI in Washington DC. She was very involved in her community and civic affairs.
She was a member of the Cordele Fine Arts Club, the Bridge Club and the Cordele Garden Club where she received first place awards several years for her camellias. She loved her family and was the family historian. She was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class at Cordele First Baptist Church. She also graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Commercial Art. She was like the Energizer Bunny and had many lives.
She is survived by her son: Clay Fisher and his wife Margaret of Houston, Tex.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Christ Episcopal Church General Fund, 408 South First Street, Cordele, GA 31015 or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
