CORDELE — Ronnie Lamar Griffin, 68, of Cordele died Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Crisp Regional Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rubye Griffin in 2013.  A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at the Byromville United Methodist Church. The committal service will follow in Swearingen Cemetery near Byromville in Dooly County.  The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Rainey Family Funeral Services. Mr. Griffin was born in Moultrie and was the son of the late Roy and Virginia Singletary Griffin.  He was the owner of GA AG Insurance Agency and an active member of the Byromville United Methodist Church. Ronnie was known by all as a kind, gentle soul. He gave unconditional love to both his family and friends. He conducted business the same way he lived his life, placing the needs of clients above his own. He was, by nature, a nurturer to all who were blessed by having him as a part of their life.  Mr. Griffin is survived by his two daughters, Melody Godfrey Burke and her husband, Mickey, and Joy Griffin, all of Cordele;  a special friend, Terri Carroll of Montezuma; four brothers and their wives, Medford and Terry Griffin of Zephyrhills, FL, Wayne and Betsy Griffin of Montezuma, Donnie and Dale Griffin of Ideal and Jay and Marilyn Griffin of Oglethorpe; three sisters and their husbands, Vera and Paul Pike of Dade City, FL, Carolyn and Robert Lloyd of Americus and Marilyn Griffin of Oglethorpe; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to United Methodist Children’s Home, P.O. Box 2525, Macon, GA 31203 or the American Cancer Society, P.O.
