CORDELE — A memorial service for Luann Theus Whittington Cordele will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Cordele First United Methodist Church.  The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Rainey Family Funeral Services. Luann, 80,  passed away Monday at Crisp Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness.  She was born in Newport News, VA and was the daughter of the late Robert Paul and Margaret White McBride. Luann had been a popular sales rep for Avon Products for 37 years and was an active member of Cordele First United Methodist Church and the local TOPS Club.  She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Javan Cleveland Whittington of Cordele;  five children, Tommy Theus and his wife, Maurine of Cordele, Cathy Theus of Lafayette, Robin Theus of Cordele, Cynthia Elaine Evans of Lawrenceville and  James Cleveland Whittington and his wife, Phyllis of Ashville, NC;  eight grandchildren, Amy Wade, Christopher Wade, Christina Theus Murphy, Jenny Theus, Lauren Brooke Whittington, Candie Walters, Heath Dinkins and Heather Hatcher; and 14 great-grandchildren.
