All year long I have been talking about how young the Wildcats are. As of Saturday night they have grown up.” They have learned a lot in the last few games,” said Head Coach George Kennedy. This year for the first time in his 44 years of coaching Kennedy picked a team Captain. Senior Drew Flanders was chosen to take the responsibility of getting the boys ready before games, ”he was a blessing and got things done,” said Kennedy. In the latter part of the year the boys came on strong beating a very good Bethlehem Temple to advance to the Elite 8 against defending State Champs Windsor Academy. The knights who were loaded with talent and depth are a favorite to repeat. As for the Wildcats their year is over with but with a team of all underclassmen except for 1 Senior, the Wildcats will back next year and stronger than ever. The Cats kept the game close in the first half but experience and depth over took them in the second half as the Knights pulled away with a 79-57 win. On the night Bobby Ray Mitchell scored 32, Ravi Patel had 12, Drew Flanders 5, Cooper Folds 3, Nathan Willis and Aaron Titshaw 2 and Griffin Gravitt 1 for the Cats. Crisp Academy shot 80% from the line. “I want to thank our people for traveling to Macon to watch us Saturday, our crowd support was fantastic,” said Kennedy.
