Cougars get Stung

The Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets put a stinging on the Crisp County Cougars on Wednesday night down in the “city of roses”. Yellow Jackets beat the Cougars 10-0 in 5 innings to improve to 9-2 and 6-0 in region play. The Cougars dropped to 4-6 and 3-2 in region play.

Crisp County managed 2 hits on the night from Will Carter and Kasey Herrington, but that was all of their offense. Carter started off the game on the mound going 3 and 1/3 innings. He walked 2 gave up 4 hits, 6 runs, struck out 2 and hit 4 batters. Last Friday Carter hit 6 in Bainbridge which is a two day total of 10 hit batters. Carter was relieved by Jacob Hughes  who gave up 3 hits, 1 walk and 3 runs. Josh Powell pitched the last inning striking out 3 giving up 1 hit, 1 run and 1 walk. The Cougars play Cairo on Friday night in Cordele at 5:30pm.
