The rain and fog did not dampen the spirits of a group that “Followed the Cross” in honor of the true meaning of Easter. It was on Good Friday all those many years ago when the Savior carried his cross to Calvary where he was crucified and died for the sins of mankind. Easter, which we will celebrate tomorrow is the day that the stone to the tomb was found rolled away and an angel proclaimed that Jesus had risen from the dead. The Hand of Hope sponsored the “Follow the Cross’ Friday afternoon through the streets of Cordele. Donna Stripling of Hand of Hope said she felt there was a need for a reminder of the sacrifice Jesus made for us all.
