Opening Ceremonies

A near record 2000 people turned out to watch the nearly 470  baseball/softball players on opening day of the Crisp County Rec ball league.

Mrs. Sherrie Leverett was ask to throw out the first pitch. She has been a very active coach and supporter of the Recreation Department and fast pitch softball in this area for a long time. Sheriff Hancock led the crowd in the pledge of allegiance. Rec Director Eric Bozeman welcomed everyone to the festivities. Michael Pomirko and Eric Morgan introduced the teams. Herbert Hughes spoke a behalf of the Crisp County Recreation Advisory Board and 3564801775363 sang the national anthem. Prior to the first pitch John Leverett and Lynn Stripling spoke about Sherrie’s long career. At the end of the opening Ceremonies Bozeman gave the traditional “Play Ball.
