CORDELE — A memorial service for Shirley Layfield Wise of Cordele will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2016 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services.
The family will receive friends prior to the service Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m. Shirley  passed away Thursday at her residence.  She was born in Davisville  to Anna Morris Odom and the late Edgar Howard Layfield. Shirley was an administrative assistant (RET) for the City of Cordele and a member of the Baptist faith.  She loved her family, and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and was an avid flower gardener.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Hubert Franklin Wise of Cordele; three daughters and their husbands, Debbie and Randy McDonald of Blakely, Dana Stennett and Donna and Brian Crissman, all of Cordele; her mother, Anna Morris Odom of Perry; step-mother, Joyce Layfield of Pitts; two sisters, Martha Barrett of Perry, Kathy Cummings and her husband, Richard of Ft. Valley; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Jamie Bush, Megan and Michael McMullen, Lindsey McDonald, Morgan and Tyler Free, McKade Bush, Elizabeth Thomas, Katherine Thomas, Rand McDonald and Megan Crissman; and two great-granddaughters, Maddie McMullen and Makayla McMullen.
